Hello Monroe First Church Family,
In response to the COVID-19 virus pandemic causing our nation to make changes to our routines, our elders, pastors, board, and staff are in agreement to not gather at the church for the remainder of March. This includes Sunday services, Bible studies, and Wednesday studies.
We listened today as Ohio Governor DeWine signed orders that all gatherings of 100 people be cancelled for 3 weeks. Although we have rights to assemble, we are taught in Romans to respect and submit to the leadership of our government authorities. We also love others and will be diligent in doing our part to reduce the spread of this virus to others, especially those with pre-existing health conditions and the elderly.
We will have online worship and sermons through the Monroe First Church of God’s facebook page at 11:00 am each Sunday.
(Click here to link to facebook page & live stream.)
Allow the sermons to lead you, your small groups, friends, and families into conversations and fellowship as we enter this experience together. You have space for creative options, phone calls, social media, and even small gatherings which would resemble the original church in the book of Acts.
We’re in a year of spreading the Good News of Jesus, and we will have unique opportunities to have gospel conversations. We will want to note your interactions and reflect those on the ping pong balls when you return to church. We continue to BE the church, even when we don’t assemble.
Our staff will continue to be at the church daily as we are not closing the church. We also have an improved phone system able to direct your calls to those you’re trying to reach. We continue to BE the church, even when we don’t assemble.
We encourage you to consider living conservatively with your finances, and know that your generous giving to our church will continue to meet the needs of our mission to serve the community and members of MFC. You have options to give through our website.
Our God is not surprised by this pandemic, but will continue to have His hand at work in our relationship with Him, and our loving relationships with others. “And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
We will continue to update our congregation through our website and facebook page.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
With His Love,
Our Elders, Board, Pastors, and Staff
